THE JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY

I am a practicing artist who prefers the medium of photography. My subject matter is nature, whether it is a landscape, flower, sky, weathered bark, or bird. I employ a DSLR camera to interact with light and capture whatever nature may offer. My passion is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places.

Photography is… a visual path of discovery. The challenge to find and capture the elements of the abstract in nature is… the journey. There is an intuitive process that leads me to the subject matter. I may revisit something numerous times, acquainting myself with the image, prevailing light, and surrounding conditions, developing necessary dialog if it speaks to me. Through this process I reveal the abstract qualities I choose to emphasis through the lens of my camera.
